Executive & Scientific Board
Thibault Helleputte
Thibault Helleputte owns a M.S. in Computing Science Engineering and a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from the University of Louvain. He also holds a Master of Management Sciences from the Louvain School of Management. His research work during his Ph.D. was centered on Machine Learning applied to the design of novel tools for automated prediction based on genomic technology. Those tools can be used for diagnosis, prognosis, treatment response prediction, and gene profiling. Thibault Helleputte is co-founder and CEO of DNAlytics.

Prof. Pierre Dupont
Pierre Dupont received an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the
Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium in 1988, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from l'
Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, Paris in 1996. From 1988 to 1991, he was a Research Staff Member at the Philips Research Laboratory Belgium. In 1992, he joined the
France Telecom R&D Center, Lannion, France as a Research Staff Member. In parallel, he completed a Ph.D. in automatic induction of grammar from data, also known as grammatical inference. In 1996-1997, he was a post-doctoral researcher in the Speech Group of the
Computer Science Department at
Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. In 1997-2001, he was Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department of
Université Jean Monnet, Saint-Etienne, France. Since September 2001, Pierre Dupont is Professor of the
Louvain School of Engineering and currently member of the
ICTEAM research institute.
Pierre Dupont is the co-founder of the UCL Machine Learning Group including more than 30 researchers working on fundamental and applied aspects of machine learning. He is specifically supervising several PhD and post-doctoral researchers. Pierre Dupont is co-chairing the Computational Intelligence and Learning FNRS Doctoral School. Pierre Dupont (co-)authored about 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and high level scientific conferences.
The specific research interests of Pierre Dupont include novel machine learning methods to tackle real problems arising in computational biology, bio-statistics and medical research, the main keywords being: feature selection, high-throughput data analysis and biomarker identification. He is also interested in statistical modeling of sequential processes (language, network logs, software events,...) with a special focus on Hidden Markov models, probabilistic automata, grammar induction and graph mining.
Pierre Dupont is co-founder of DNAlytics.

Advisory Board
Jean-Pol Detiffe
Jean-Pol Detiffe has several degrees in both life sciences and management sciences. He worked for several biotechnology companies, in quality assurance tasks, in business development missions, or in general management positions. He is a member of the board to several organizations and companies. He founded DNAVision and occupied there the position of CEO for years.
Benoit Gailly
Professor Benoit Gailly has a Ph.D. in Applied Sciences from the University of Louvain, a European Master in Society, Science and Technology from Roskilde University and an MBA from INSEAD. He teaches innovation management and strategy at master and executive level in the Center for Research in Entrepreneurial Change and Innovative Strategies (CRECIS) of the Louvain School of Management, where he held the Puilaetco Chair in Management and Financing of Technology Innovation. He is Program Director of the executive master in innovation management and President of the commission of the Academic Council of the University regarding the transfer and valorization of research results. His research focuses on innovation-based strategies and innovation and entrepreneurship support systems. He is a former manager at McKinsey, Board member and advisor for several companies (both large firms and start-ups) and expert for the European Commission.
Jean-Paul Prieels
Jean-Paul Prieels was in charge of R&D within GSK Biologicals (Senior VP R&D) for many years. He is used to assess the potential of innovative biotechnology and health care projects. He started his career outside the industry as a researcher in biochemistry. His research continued in various institutions (ULB, ICP, Duke University). He was then a professor at the ULB. Subsequently, he has always been, and still is, careful to stay aware of the latest scientic developments in his field. He is now member of the board to several companies. He also co-founded Masthercell in 2011, where he holds the position of CEO.
Thomas Quinet
Thomas Quinet graduated as an engineer from the Université catholique de Louvain and is currently pursuing an MBA at the Louvain School of Management. He is currently Director of Sales at PSI Metals for Western Europe, Latin America, Korea, Australia and New Zealand. Although his current job is in the steel industry rather than biotechnology, many of his skills are of great use to DNAlytics: Strategic orientation, portfolios management, complex products/services sales cycles, international development, negotiation, contracting, etc. Thomas Quinet is chairman of the advisory board.
Additionnal Support
DNAlytics is also supported by several partners, about chich you can read more here.
